State Legislators

When important items come up regarding our lake and surrounding areas, it is important that we make our voice heard.  Contacting your state senator and representative is an important part of our advocacy plan.  If you live on the lake, your legislator and state representatives are:

Dave Hancock, House of Representatives:

rep.dave.hancock@house.mn

Rod Skoe, State Senator

sen.rod.skoe@senate.mn

If you do not live in the area, use this link to find out who represents you and your interests (just enter your zip code).

Friendly Reminder…

Encourage out of town guests to utilize the decontamination station for their boats or personal water craft before entering Little Sand Lake. Regular manned hours May 22nd - September 7th Fridays: Noon to 5pm Saturday: Noon to 5pm or call 218-252-6738 outside of these times to make an appt.
While on a ladder, never step back to admire your work.
Did you know? Phosphates in our lake promote algae growth. Please be cautious in fertilizing your lawn in any areas where runoff may go into our lake. Soap and shampoo have the same effect.
The three B's of boating...Boat Safe, Boat Smart, Boat Sober.
Be aware of surroundings. Keep an eye on anyone you don't know acting suspiciously around your neighbors property. When in doubt, call the local sheriff so they can quickly curtail any criminal activity.
Dogs often enjoy following new smells at the lake, or finding a new buddy to play with! Have your cell phone number on their ID tags in case someone finds them.
Be a good neighbor! Please be mindful of noise. It is easy to forget how magnified sound is over water.
Put your feet up. Take a break. Sit back. Relax...You're at the lake!
